What happened to Will Smith? Why did Hollywood's one of the coolest, classy and most suave celebrity elite act the way he did that could jeopardize his whole life's work? Or did he?
During the 94th Academy Awards ceremony while Chris Rock was on stage to present the award for Best Documentary Feature, he poked fun at how Jada Pinkett Smith looked with the bald head by saying he is excited to see her and also excited for G.I. Jane 2 to release soon.
Will Smith seemed to be laughing with everyone after the joke but quickly realizes Chris Rock was making fun of Jada's bald head due to alopecia.
Will Smith walked onto the stage when everyone including Chris Rock kept laughing and took it as some gag Will Smith is about to perform but to everyone's dismay Will lands a powerful slap across Chri's face.
Chris lost his balance for a second but kept laughing and said "Wow, Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me".
Unflinched and unaffected Chris tries to continue with his hosting when Will interrupts by saying, "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth".
Everyone including Chris now started to realize Will was pissed and the altercation was real and not a gag. Chris tried to subdue the situation by saying "Wow dude, it was a G.I. Jane joke".
Will continues to affirm with stern enunciation, "Yes, keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth".
Chris replied, "I am going to, Ok?".
While the whole room was stunned in silence not knowing what to say or do, Chris kept his cool and continued to host the remainder of the segment by saying, "That was the greatest night in the history of television".
So, what happened to Will Smith?
A real biological man with enough testosterone running thru his veins, at the end of the day is territorial.
This is hardwired into a male brain, this is biology, this is evolution, this is evolutionary psychology.
Will Smith is 53 now. When men grow close to the end of their lively days, almost all they care about is their legacy, be it big or small.
This is when Jada's "entanglement" story with August Alsina who is close to half her age came out on July 10, 2020 in one of her Red Table Talk episodes on Facebook Watch. Will was present for this revelation and he clearly seemed unhappy and unacceptable of what he was hearing.
Will Smith was torn into smithereens online with memes and roasts. Alsina even came out with a song 'Entanglement' with lyrics suggesting Jada left Will to fuck Alsina and then break his heart by going back to Will again.
Everything Will built for himself for the past 3 decades came crashing into everyone's mind, more or less. The so-called "culture" started seeing Will as a cuckold and can't meet his wife's needs. All this when Will and Jada have always proudly talked about their open-marriage and how cool they are to let their kids also do whatever they please.
When Chris publicly made Jada feel uncomfortable and disgusted with the G.I. Jane joke in front of the whole world, Will psychologically couldn't sit there and let the possibility of the world saying he can't do shit for his wife all over again.
Will Smith would have lost all his credibility and image after this incident. But all turned around when Will won the Best Actor award for his movie King Richard and gave an emotional acceptance speech with a great message about love, family and fatherhood. He said he will do anything to defend his family which seamlessly applies to his character in King Richard which just won the Best Actor award.
